Safeguarding Policy V1
Moor, Mountain, Grow is committed to creating safe, inclusive environments where every participant, volunteer, and facilitator is protected from harm. This safeguarding policy outlines our zero-tolerance approach to risk and our proactive measures to uphold safety and dignity for all.
1. Zero Tolerance for Harm
We run a strict zero-tolerance policy. This applies to any form of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or behavior that places individuals at risk of harm. This applies across all activities, communications, and partnerships.
2. Inclusive Safeguarding for All
Our safeguarding approach is rooted in inclusion. We recognise and respect the diverse needs of disabled people, neurodivergent individuals, and those with lived experience of marginalisation. Everyone deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported.
3. Activity-Specific Risk Assessments
Every activity delivered under Moor, Mountain, Grow is supported by a tailored risk assessment. These assessments are designed to identify, mitigate, and monitor potential safeguarding risks, with adjustments made for accessibility and participant needs.
4. Accessible Reporting Pathway
Concerns, disclosures, or safeguarding risks can be raised confidentially via email to: safeguarding@blindmanroy.com. This inbox is monitored regularly and all reports are treated with urgency, discretion, and care.
5. Empowered Volunteers and Facilitators
All volunteers and facilitators receive safeguarding guidance and are empowered to act if they witness or suspect harm. We encourage a culture of speaking up, supporting one another, and prioritising safety above all else.
6. Continuous Review and Improvement
Our safeguarding practices are reviewed regularly to guarantee they remain robust, inclusive, and aligned with national standards. Feedback from participants and partners is actively welcomed to strengthen our approach.
7. Legal and Ethical Compliance
Moor, Mountain, Grow complies with UK safeguarding legislation and best practice frameworks. We benchmark our policies against recognised standards and strive to exceed minimum expectations.
8. Respectful Communication and Boundaries
All interactions within our programmes must reflect respect, consent, and psychological safety. Discriminatory, coercive, or unsafe behaviour will result in immediate action, including removal from activities and referral to appropriate authorities.
9. Support for Those Affected
If a safeguarding concern arises, we prioritise the wellbeing of the affected individual(s). Support may include signposting to specialist services, adjustments to participation, and follow-up to ensure safety and recovery.
10. Shared Responsibility
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We invite all participants, volunteers, and partners to uphold this policy and contribute to a culture of care, vigilance, and inclusion.
