Rambling grass filled hills head off to the back of the picture with rugged mountains with a pail blie sky.

🌿 Frequently Asked Questions — Moor, Mountain, Grow

1. I’ve never walked on a moor before. Is this for me?

Absolutely. Moor, Mountain, Grow is designed for people who are new to moorland walking or want to reconnect with nature in a supported way. We start with lowland-level walks and build confidence together. Don’t worry, we are not climbing any mountain!

2. Do I need special equipment or clothing?

No specialist gear is required. Comfortable walking boots, weather-appropriate clothing, and a small day bag are usually enough. We’ll send a simple checklist before each walk to help you feel prepared.

3. What if I’m nervous about joining a group?

That’s completely normal. Before you sign up, I offer a friendly, informal chat so we can talk through any worries. The group is small (maximum 10 people), and everyone is there to support each other.

4. Will there be support if I struggle during the walk?

Yes. Each walk includes one-to-one guidance from qualified and experienced navigators. You’ll never be left behind, and we’ll match confident walkers with those who need extra support — always with care and respect.

5. How long are the walks?

Day walks typically last 5–8 hours with breaks and gentle pacing. The initial two days training will be back to back in the area of Brendon, near Lynton and Lynmouth, we recommend your overnight stay is in either a local hotel, hostel or tent — depending on your comfort level.

6. Is this accessible for people with disabilities?

Inclusion is at the heart of everything I do. If you have specific access needs, let’s talk. We’ll work together to make sure the experience is safe, supportive, and tailored to you.

7. How much does it cost?

Pricing is still being finalised , but the aim is to keep it affordable and inclusive. You’ll be able to choose between different options depending on your needs and preferences.

8. Where will the walks take place?

We’ll be walking in Exmoor and surrounding lowland areas. Routes are chosen for their beauty, accessibility, and suitability for mixed-ability groups.

9. Can I bring a friend or support worker?

Yes — you’re welcome to bring someone along. Just let me know during our initial chat so we can plan accordingly.

10. How do I sign up or learn more?

Start by registering your interest on the website. I’ll be in touch to arrange a chat, answer any questions, and help you decide if it’s the right fit.
