๐๐๐๐ Our second attempt to complete the walk ๐๐๐๐
Hadrian’s Wall, set in the Northumberland countryside has been a big part of my hiking life.
I studied the The Romans as a child in the 1970โs, I first walked it in 2016 with a group of 6 friends from West to East.

I planed my second walk, in May 2023.
Starting at Wallsend-On-Tyne, North Tyneside, United Kingdom in the East and walking the
wall over five days to Bowness On Solway.
The obvious difference was the 7 year gap lead us all to have a different outlook on life, health and fitness. My keenness to enjoy and complete the walk was very strong.
We left in the morning of Tuesday 30th May 2023. A couple of weeks prior to the attack on the famous felling of the Sycamore tree.

I have written my version of the walk in separate posts, the links are below. Please click into them and learn about the highs and lows, accommodation and how we had to pivot our details.
A taste of my story in my own words.
Helen, was the nominated driver and I agreed to be the nominated navigator. We set off at 0900 with arrangements in place to meet our other hikers in a service station on the M1. Planning make the first day a boozy experience into Newcastle. ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
To help tell the story of the five days I have written and day by day account. The trip did not go completely to plan. We had some very long days and great distances to cover. The mental challenge was harder than the walk itself.
The posts will help others with the planning.
Day One – Hadrians Wall Path
Day Two – Hadrians Wall Path – Day Two

We all wish to inspire others to follow us in the love for adventure and challenges.
