This year, many people that I know, took advantage to travel out of the UK to visit new countries. Some in search of adventure and others to sit in the sun and switch off.

Over the past few years the introduction of new working patterns, condensed hours, flexible working patterns, and in some cases, the opportunity to roll over any unspent holiday or purchase extra days holidays.
This means, that employees can benefit from “out off season” or “low season” holidays at discounted prices.
Relax in not so busy resorts and dance around the pool bar and feel, equal with a group of revellers.
I’m back to work on this week, after my holiday.

I went to Kos, in Greece and completely switched off. I drank, danced and went for a days, island hoping.
My 57 year body was kissed by the sun!

Sadly, I was also the only white caned holiday maker in what felt like a whole of Greece.
The airline, even let me on the plane first, to find my seat and put my bag away without panic. At the boarder controls, in both Bristol and Kos, I was invited to go to the front of the cue.

The Hotel, Cabana Blue, was everything it said it was in the website. I had a few disability issues, but nothing that would stop me going again and again.

The purpose of this post is to not brag about a holiday, but to state that “change is happening”.
We do still need to continue to push for changes to support more people to travel on a holiday.
There should of been more than one blind bloke on the planes, the island, the hotels.
Please continue to support the RNIB the work that is happening in airports, hotels and employment is just a small part of the work happening.
